What a start to the New Year! Our Boys U16A’s made the long journey to Templeogue in Dublin to take part in the prestigious Invitational Tournament and came away with the honours, lifting our first ever trophy at U16A grade.

After hard fought victories against Moycullen (28 – 22) and the host club, Templeogue (36 – 32), in their pool games it all came down to the deciding match against Donegal Basketball Club late in the afternoon. Mathews put on their most convincing display of the day in the final, beating Donegal BBC by a score line of 37 – 23 to lift the trophy.
