Saturday 26th May:

US High School and College coach, Robert Holm, was a guest of Fr Mathew’s this weekend and for over 3 hours today in Douglas Community School he delivered two outstanding sessions with our U16 Boys and U114 & U16 Girls.

The focus of the session with our U16 Boys was predominantly on defence and he certainly put the lads through their paces. There was a very obvious emphasis on fundamentals and each of the players picked up many key aspects over the course of the afternoon.

Coach Holm then took our U14 & U16 Girls and again there was a significant focus on the fundamentals of shooting and passing.

Coach Holm continues his clinic tomorrow with our U18 & U20 Boys from 3:00 to 4:30 followed by our U14 Boys from 4:30 to 6:00.

It was good to see coaches from other clubs such as Neptune, Carrig na bhFear and East Cork Glenmary in attendance along with our friends, Marie and Elaine, from Kinsale. Hopefully other clubs avail of the opportunity to experience Coach Holm’s excellent coaching ability.
